Its power to vacuum isn't quite as powerful as our top pick, the Roomba j7+ by iRobot, but it's still a capable and versatile machine worth your time.

The app allows you to create a 3D home map as well as designate zones that are not to be visited and schedule specific cleaning sessions. The iRobot Genius App allows you to control the robot using a either a smartphone or remote. It also makes it easy to configure the j7+ as well as customize other settings. It will even guide new users through an onboarding procedure to assist the robot in learning its home and outline its space for cleaning.

The j7+ has a larger dust bin than many of the other self-emptying robot vacuums that we've tested. It is able to hold more debris, however you will still need to empty the bin every seven to eight months (or more frequently if you have pet hair or other large debris). iRobot sells filters and bags that can be replaced separately.

Another nice feature is the front camera on the j7+, which is advertised to help the robot recognize dangers such as pet waste and power cords and avoid them. The camera is not as effective in low-light conditions therefore you might be interested in a competitor with superior cameras, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.

I was also delighted to see that when docked, the iRobot J7+ automatically empty its dust bin into Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal. This is a major improvement over other models, which require you to manually open and empty the dust bin. This small detail will save you time and frustration.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 is a sleek robot that has impressive cleaning capabilities. It has a suction power of 5000Pa and is equipped with a primary floating brush and two-sided brushes that help get rid of dirt on hard floors and in corners. It is equipped with a powerful battery that can be used for vacuuming and mopping. If the battery is low, it will return to its dock. Its smart features include a home-map, 3D mapping, and automated cleaning schedules.

Like other Deebot models The T10 Omni has a separate cleaning tank to clean and dry mopping pads in order to prevent cross-contamination. The T10 cleaning tank can hold up to 4L of clean water. This is enough to mop 400m2. It has a special design that allows it to refill and drain without touching the pad or getting wet.

One of the features that makes the T10 apart from other robot vacuums is its intelligent mapping technology, which creates a precise 3D map of your home's layout. This enables the robot to better identify obstacles and adjust its navigational process, which enhances the overall efficiency of cleaning.

Its smart features also include a top-quality microphone that responds to voice commands and the ECOVACS app is easy to use and offers a wide range of customizable settings. The only issue is the absence of the remote control. This could be a niggle for some.

The T10 OMNI does an excellent job of cleaning pet hair. It was able to remove most of the fur from my carpets in just two cleaning cycles, and it was even able to navigate around some furniture that was blocking its path.

The T10 Omni is a fantastic option for anyone who wants a mop and robot vacuum that can empty it. Its mops are just as powerful as its vacuums, and it comes with a much more attractive design than the Roomba. The T10's intelligent features are more than enough to make up for the absence of a remote. With the app, you can quickly start and stop a cleansing cycle. You can also schedule it and alter device settings.

4. Shark ION SX

Shark's top self-emptying robot vacuum The ION XL is an excellent option for those looking for hands-free cleaning and an outstanding level of performance. The vacuum comes with a huge bin that can hold a month's worth of dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the conclusion of each cleaning session to ensure long-term storage. The ION XL is one of the top robot vacuums on the market for both carpets and hard flooring, and it can also sweep and mop your floor. You can control the robot using an app or voice commands. You can also create an outline of your home whenever you want. The robot does an excellent job of moving around furniture and can even navigate stairs and fully-carpeted rooms with ease.

I tested the IONXL in a kitchen and family room with hardwood floors, area rugs and a standard debris test. It was excellent at cleaning up pet hair and debris from the floors, and also picked up some of the more stubborn dust particles on carpets. It also did a great job in maneuvering around my bar stools and didn't get in the way of them as the iRobot J7+ did during this test. The only downside to the ION XL is that it cannot detect shoes, cords or toys within its path. You will need to clean your house before you use this vacuum if you want it to avoid them.

The ION XL isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot j7+, but it's an excellent alternative for those who don't want to spend more than $500 for an automated cleaner. It's better than the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways it is also easier to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It also performs better of vacuuming floors with no carpet and removing pet hair, but it can't perform as well on lowor high pile carpet.

It's not as sturdy however it's an excellent option. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a large capacity bin. It can be controlled by an app or voice command and is easy to maintain. It also comes at an affordable price.
